dying was better in morning
gunfire fresh from its sleep
cordite crisp on the air
when the battlefield soul
could lift onto the rise of the sun
catch a ride to the sky
looking down with the light
through white cannon-shot smoke
so to measure the worth
of repeating the sacrifice
claimed by the same greening ground
just one summer before
when the lazy grass hills
gently rolled beneath trees
until Stonewall won fame of his name
Really liked this. Well written.

What i really liked was the smooth peaceful description of the nature while the title was full of feisty meaning. Such a good balance.
