we speak often of nowhere
as if it exists nonexistently
like some black hole philosophy
spiraling nothingness
darkling trite adages
tongue-tied by space-time
unripe and unlit
by a plausible idiom
anywhere ails in a similar way
tossed from nonchalant lips
unaware of its truth
given physics of chaos
too thinly instilled
quanta hardly achieve
erudition in liberal
artisan speech
unsatisfied rigor of lesser trained
impatient minds leads
to rationalizing
in shorthand
simplistic but safely
concluding that
everywhere is in fact
somewhere
so much super poetry going on in just one poem, Paul!
we speak often of nowhere as if it exists nonexistently
wonderful, I read this several times, sir.

How you toss around complex ideas with such seeming facility and make them work in verse is your genius.

I am guessing we are all guilty of the point that is the main thrust of this remarkable poem from time to time – the skill is realizing it. Great stuff.

I really like this–your use of language, the schism of physics and “liberal artisan speech”. “Exists nonexistently”, “spiraling nothingness” describe my state of mind often. I’ll never understand physics (my college professor kindly said it’s be cause I was an English Major), so I may be in the “darkly trite adages” group.

I’m a learner – not a teacher – suggest watching cable series like “Through the Wormhole” with Morgan Freeman and “Cosmos” with Neil DeGrasse Tyson
