Appreciation

Dear Readers,

It’s time to take a poetry pause so I can once again thank all who have paid me the honor of visiting this blog. I am grateful beyond measure for your kind consideration and attention. It genuinely moves me to realize my poetry is reaching so many people, in so many places around the world.

When I began this blog in January, I wasn’t at all sure my amateur poetry and occasional prose thoughts would hold much appeal, especially in this WordPress environment that I long admired for its strong population of talented writers. But you have shown me that there is indeed appreciation for my work, and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

At this nine-month juncture, WordPress stats indicates “Poesy plus Polemics” has generated over

• 850 posts (almost all are poems)
• 33,000 visits
• 7,100 comments
• 2,000 followers
• 52 reader awards

These numbers are quite humbling for a retired old businessman. I have some luxury that I know not everyone else has, namely time. My days are no longer busy with the life I once led, and I use chunks of that time to read and contemplate as much of your work as possible. I follow many of you, and comment whenever I can.

I only hope I will continue to find words and forms that you find interesting. One thing I can guarantee is that whatever you read here will genuinely express my thoughts, ideas and beliefs.

Here’s to seeing you all on the “reader.”
