(For Charlie)
eighty-five still too young
for a summertime grave
ceremonial sorrow too trite
for a gold-handed man
handsome luxuries fashioned by
swinging the dutiful heft of his
ancestral hammers a builder of
permanent heirlooms of heart
fountains weep ruined glory
scent of eglantine wilting
cloys the Italian rain sealing
interment of beautiful bones
Wonderful.

You have been a difficult man for me to find- I’m not yet understanding how to use gravatar and that, until I accidentally stumbled upon this, has been a thorn. I am not digitally gifted.
Anyway, I’ve wanted to say, not a few times, thank you for your interest in one or two of my scribblings, now I am especially awed that I seemed to have attracted the attention of a master.

Hey, Paul, I recently reinstated a WP blog of mine called the Family Memory Keeper. It’s a place for me to hold onto, and share with others, the past. You might like this photo: http://familymemorykeeper.wordpress.com/2012/06/30/italian-men-and-money/ Feel free to use any photos/clippings that might work for you.

Thanks, Peter. I inherited all the family photos, and this makes it easy to share them with my siblings and cousins, who all live miles and miles away. It also motivates me to scan, organize (in some crazy fashion), just generally deal with these thousands of pieces of paper.

My dad had a hammer that he loved. He passed away a bit under a year ago, just shy of his 85th birthday. I will share this with my siblings. God bless.
