  1. Amazing: the continuity you write about in this poem is felt much more strongly among Europeans and Asians than Americans. Here we grow up aspiring to be existential individuals thinking of ourselves in isolation from past or future, ancestry or progeny, and often even immediate family . . .

  2. I’ve been wondering why you write poetry as you do. I understand that it is your style that you have honed down the years, or are just enjoying presently, but was there a choice involved when you stopped using punctuation and capital letters to distinguish lines and sentences? (This is not meant to offend. I rather enjoy your style; it’s refreshing)
