“Nihilism Inside”
Painting by Sabrin Mahran
From deviantart.com
the poet must bear at least one
piercing splinter of ice in his heart
he must put painful pen to the paper
without reservations of conscience
observe with objective dispassion
grim features of human proclivity
render them brutally colored
by truth in its ugliest spectrum
else poetry puffs with a pander
to boast overweening with bloat
false idolatry singing man’s praise
only real in the realm of the mind
Oh wow … this is really awesome, my dear friend.
Powerful words here. I love it! 🙂

Yiu’re right, but it’s interesting how few readers respond well to painful truth.

I nonetheless keep trying to write truth

Without reservation of conscience… I must put pen to the paper and proclaim that this is brilliantly written… (but it wasn’t painful to say so)
