cold in her corm
beginning to stir
beneath blankets
receding returning
their lifeblood
to saturate soils
enabling her
late winter
morning ablutions
she reaches her
slender green arms
her petite purple hands
in envigoring stretch
overhead till they
burst through the
membrane of seasons
to clutch the brisk air
full awake and alive
mute announcement
that spring is about
to arrive that it’s time
every lifeform prepare
to refresh itself
making the most
of this calendar gift
of renewal the
chance to start over
and better than ever
A quiet hidden message, dear sir!
Wonderfully written..
You seem to have seen what we both have seen!
cheers chris

An odd thing Paul…every 24 hours I have to ‘re-follow’ your blog. Not sure if the problem is at my end or not yet this has been happening for a week or so now! I shall investigate and report back.

Has to be me…although I’ve noticed one or two regulars who seem to be ‘re-following’ me regularly. I shall write a long letter to WP and this time put a stamp on it!

We continually live in the hope of what is not quite yet and the regret of what is already spent . . . Wonderful verse!

I love the line, “burst through the membrane of seasons” You have described what I think I am going through with the seasons of my life as well. Lovely poem, Paul.
