“Kindness” by Nasrin Barekat
a moral economy
owing to tenets of
classical chivalry
honor in kindness
fit for mature
self-secure modern
cultures an ethos
attaching fair duties
to privileged position
no matter how earned
polite ethical basis
for sharing society
healthy inclusive
responsible hearts
a virtue respectful of
common humanity
it used to be so
but alas I cannot
quite remember
just when
I think I have to go back to 1951 and Aneurin Bevan and his exploits I have only read about

He gave us the NHS still alive and well nearly 70 years on…yet left or right if they are men/women of honour with intellectual support for their cause they have my respect…sadly so few are these days. In fact I’m struggling to think of even one…our present Labour lefty is an idiot!

Perhaps it disappeared when the ‘noblesse’ were run out of town by the ‘hedge`fund managers’ who consider their wealth as ‘a reward for their smarts’ rather than ‘a responsibility to manage with an eye on the well`being of all’ . . . Capitalism breeds blind greed . . .

We were discussing this ourselves – morality has flown out the window as greed takes over…
