morning resents
sleepless nights
turning days into
wearying waste
times of starving
for poetic minds
ever hungry to
turn art of phrase
to create something
worthy of saying
but too weak to
find any words
save for
bitter invectives
to hurl against
coldhearted moons
This is beautiful! Wonderful post 😃

A wonderful meandering musing ending with an objective…yet another masterpiece…a true poet at work.

M(EYE) Sleep is crucial. And so are M(EYE) Dreams.

Oh, I can so relate. The first four lines drew me into the poem immediately. (Now, I think I’ll take a nap!)

I’d love to hear the invectives! And I empathize completely about the role of sleep in a poet/writer’s world. The Dali painting ratchets the mood of the poem up and down by many aching notches. Thanks, Paul.

Stark and beautiful poetry. The picture of sleep as some sort of monster is a perfect accompaniment.
