tugs at my moorage
nudged toward the shore
waiting for my master
gillnets set for casting
once clear of the shoals
meantime pelicans
watching for breakfast
keep me company
while I doze on the swells

Really enjoyed this. With the exception of poetry (which I’ve only taken to reading for less than a year), I don’t read much fiction these days. But when I do, it is always stories of the sea! Neat how you wrote from the perspective of the boat. Take care. Beth
