“Evening Sun” by Lucinda Parker
I can wait for the moon
a lifetime in coming
the end of this
long day of living
the lowering sun
remains generous
wealthy with moments
allowing me yet
its good leave to
acquire the character
I would admire
still time to become
that much better man
who would now and then
animate turns
of my conscience
that man of the mist
content in his dreams
sound and safe
through the imminent
infinite night
Beautifully self`reflective . . .

time well spent, I hope

A positivity that may serve me well after the rotten day of freezing fog and seagulls taking target practice upon our family cars (serious target practice, I might add). I am glad I left this read till last. Thank you, Paul.

Sorry…trying again!
Not in a hurry yet making ready to bid farewell to this beautiful fraught life.

I think “boosts” may be part of God’s “daily mercies” package 🙂

“I can wait for the moon” sounds like an excellent opening line for a dialog where people to share their thoughts on what that means. I like what it means for you and with your permission, will begin ruminating on my own response to that line.

Beautiful yet I sense wistfulness. Maybe it is my own sadness that I find reflected in your words. And that’s OK.
