“Solar Eclipse 2017” Artist Unknown
didn’t bother
to watch the eclipse
saved my eyes
from sharp vectors
that angle
with mischief
that small minded
short sighted
man in the moon
cosmic scamp
always wont
to upstage
fellow actors
embezzle their light
cut them down
to his stature
a parlor trick
played in an
unfurnished sky
for a few
puckish moments
pretending that he
is as large as the sun
Even in the cosmos the little guy has the biggest mouth (or so the saying goes). Super words, Paul.

Heard people say ‘This was the highlight of my life!’ and I thought ‘Must not have been much of a life!’

Absolutely loved this, a bit of a smirk. As for me, I apparently didn’t start my day till the eclipse was long over and done–when I got up the sky was bright-sunny, and I kept waiting for a bit of shadow, eclipse, which was never realized…then I checked the Internet, which informed me I’d overslept…

it seemed to me a rather ho-hum event

Wonderful title. You gave me a different perspective on the eclipse.

I’m glad to hear that – all the inflated hoopla needed to have some air let out

I was awed by the total eclipse but I absolutely love your description of what a rapscallion the moon was on that day. 🙂
