“Diamonds and Lies” by Brenda York
above the treeline
voices carry forever
circling the globe
every lie ever told
weightless words
shallow breaths
of thin air lifted
swiftly on currents
corrupt in their
power to populate
credulous minds
with insidious facts
of dishonesty
misinformation
combining with
disinformation
accomplish the
very worst kinds
of deception
creating electronic
truths bearing
echoes of gospel

They say this day he died so as to rise again; I’d say this day he rose so as to die again. Some simply call it fake news; I call it gospel . . . Your poetry is a great gift, my friend . . .

Superb depiction of Fake News, each word, each line, and then the very last, as it certainly does seem to echo the gospel, and for all the same reasons at that.

The notion that voices, words–particularly lies–forever circle the earth is downright depressing.
