“It’s Nice That….6” by Gabriella Boyd
by sly trick or device
given quirks of
pop culture
you acquired some fame
fifteen minutes
to bask in the
half-hearted interest
of narrow minds
shallow souls
bored just as easily
as they’re amused
social media
leaves your
indelible scrapbook
to later look back
and ask of the past
what the hell
were you thinking
From my book Ephemera
I love it!!

How apt a description for the current hollow situation of our generation.

They crave fame and fortune, whereas the wise seek only fortune and anonymity.

Hahaha…Yup. I find myself saying that more often at 71. You had to bring it up… 🙂

Cool.
How would you say you get so many followers? I’ve been blogging for almost 10 years. I use tags. Often photos. I can write. I’m not sure why I’m not attracting a larger audience, not that I really mind.

I don’t really know the answer because the number of my followers has always been a source of surprise and amazement to me

Fair enough. Yes it probably would be for me too.

Sorry didn’t mean to sound critical. I meant if my blog had a lot of followers I’d be surprised and amazed.

Delightfully wry. When I was around five or six years old I thought everyone had a talent and could become famous. I never could fine mine.

as I read your book, your writing talents are obvious – your life has been, and continues to be remarkable

Thank you, Paul. Your words mean a lot to me. ❤ I think my life is pretty remarkable and would not choose to exchange it for any other. I do feel that I exist in a realm that not many people "get". Maybe it is the poet in me.

“Half-hearted interest of narrow minds.” Depressing in its accuracy.
