“Mountain Haze” by Bill Davidson
this wilderness
teaches tranquility
joy found in freedom
that comes to the lost
without compass
or maps no agenda
no time but the time
to explore to imagine
directions toward
everything possible
everything needed
this wilderness
too late discovered
impassive impatient
it should have told
eager young bones
plangent tales of antiquity
given its wisdom
to years yet unlived
not stand wasting itself
upon calcified dreams
and abandoned ambition
It speaks to us, Paul,…if only we’d listen

I think we save the best for pudding. Young eyes only see what is on the plate before them. Soft, reflective, marvelous poem, Paul

I love nature and always feel connected to the wilderness. I guess it is because from young age I grew up among trees and everything to do with nature. Yes it’s timeless and beautiful. You have described the wilderness with deep meaning as usual, that I am unable to do justice, in fully appreciating your verse. I learn so much from you and Thank you for sharing them with us. May God Bless You 🙂
