white midnight

entices the notice

of sleepless old bones

philosophical questions

retreat the late light

better left to the

candlelit labor of shadows

uncommon bright moments

too special to darken

with deepthink solemnity

weightlessness wanting

no dragging of dreams

don the snowshoes

make stride through that

small easy world

spanning none but the

intimate acres of heart

with a mind free of thought

left to regulate breathing

the breath of the moon

sliced my dreams
stole them slyly
in silvery slivers
through gaps
of my shutters
he gloats having
made a fine
meal of my mind
thief in transit
self-fancied lord
light of the night
when it’s me
I’m convinced
it’s all me
all my lost lovely
visions that shine
white and bright
from his larcenous
leering at gullible
lovers enrapt
by the throw
of his illicit glow
unaware
their own dreams
could be next

sleek whiskered lion barks hollow the sea
rocks glisten and mediate cross-crashing surf
stars decorate tears of a saddened land’s end
salty sparklings that skitter on swirls in the rush
and return of cerulean moon-fluoresced foam
leaving bubbles to privately burst on the sand
man and woman alone
with their thoughts
drifting out of the darkness
to dance
to the tempo of tides

to discoveries worth
more than life
