Drawing by FoxAndTheCrow
in her anguish
loud darkness
no room for
the effort
of words
all she needs
is a touch
quiet fingers
to reach
underneath
her despair
take the fear
from her mind
hold her heart
in the palm
of unspoken
affection
one touch
of love’s hand
conveys more
compassion
than penstrokes
of poets
or blessings
of saints
silent hands
can catch
teardrops
lift spirits
if only
for moments
but moments
distinctly
profound
in their power

Sometimes everything has to be enscribed across the heavens so you can find the one line already written inside you. Sometimes it takes a great sky to find that small, bright, and indescribable wedge of freedom in your own heart. David Whyte
