what treasons of the heart
turn great nations to ruin
they are always the lies
from the handsomest mouths
made to taste like the truth
whose proof comes too late
when the sovereign flesh
half-picked from sweet bones
feeds a hag volt of vultures
mangy with quills dripping
sanguine stark words filling
bloodlines of civic obituary
Isn’t that the truth!

There truly is wisdom to it. Reminds me of a quote from the Edda: “Speak well or be silent” Can’t really put my finger on why it came to my mind though 😀

if we followed Snorri’s words, there would be no lies told, I suppose

If only. On the other hand I watched a movie some time ago called “The invention of lying”. Not sure if you are familiar with it but it deals with society without lies. It puts forward the thesis that little lies are like the oil of social convention and interaction. Plausible and interesting thought yet also very demotivating if you think what this means for humanity 😀

This one is so candid. It reminds me of my government or of candidates during elections.
