“Gradually Falling Asleep in Apathy of Unconsciousness” by Paulo Sergio Zerbato
stand in the rain
brave the storm
wash the guilt
of indifference
before it sets
permanent stain
take clean-handed
hold of opinion
adopt a position or
suffer the pangs of
dead conscience
in face of events
intellectual mayhem
gone out of control
because too many
moribund minds
prefer comfort of
sleep to the hard
pensive business
of outsmarting
vicious iniquity
A very smart indictment of why & how societal sins thrive in our culture . . . Bravo, my friend . . .

I agree, as ever, with Peter…a bravo moment. A classic statement of truth put to poem.

We have a saying here ‘I’m alright Jack’, which sums up the attitude of those who couldn’t care less as long as it doesn’t affect them. We need to keep being reminded. Thanks Peter

A balm to those who have dealt with inquisitions for some one else’s mistake and who have had to ask their own conscience another hundred times , was I wrong ? Why are they doubting me ?
Guilt can be induced by those who stand to gain psychologically or socially or even materially by that induction. This is like an armor , thank you . It would help if ever I am attacked once more by the moribund opinions trying to deconstruct me.
